The Psychology Behind Planet Buu
Planet Buu is built on the belief that big feelings deserve calm, compassionate support — not correction.
Our tools are rooted in established psychological approaches that prioritise emotional regulation, co-regulation, and sensory safety. They’re designed to help children feel seen, soothed, and understood — especially in moments when words are hard to find.
What Guides Us
🧠 Emotional Regulation
We draw on research from psychologists like Dr. Dan Siegel, Ross Greene, and Anna Freud, who showed that children learn to manage emotions best when they feel safe — not punished. Our tools support this by helping children label, externalise, and ride out emotional waves.
🤝 Co-Regulation
From attachment theory to modern neuroscience, the message is clear: children can’t self-regulate until they’ve been co-regulated. That’s why our products are designed to support the parent-child bond — through shared routines, calming visuals, and non-verbal communication tools.
🎨 Sensory Awareness
Many of our users are neurodivergent or sensory-sensitive. We’ve designed every item — from textures to colours — to be gentle, grounding, and predictable. No harsh triggers. No overstimulation.
Built by Parents, Backed by Psychology
Planet Buu was created by James and Yulia — two parents navigating the emotional highs and lows of raising young children. With backgrounds in psychology, education, and product design, we combined our lived experience with trusted psychological principles to create something we couldn’t find on the shelf: tools that help children and parents feel more connected, calm, and confident.
Not a Fix. A Companion.
We don’t promise to “solve” behaviour. Instead, we offer supportive companions — practical, emotionally intelligent tools that help children move through big feelings, and help parents stay connected in the hard moments.
Whether you're navigating meltdowns, shutdowns, or slow mornings that feel like mountains — Planet Buu is here to help you both get through, together.
